Saeid Nourian, a talented PhD
candidate in the University of Ottawa, started fulfilling his interest in computer software
development long before coming to university. At age 15 he was
a skilled QBasic programmer and the author of few interesting
computer programs including an
artificial chess program. Later at age 17, he
designed and programmed Algebra & Geometry
in DOS, what is now
known as the classic version of Runiter Company's graphing series. This piece of software won the 3rd prize in
1997 Ottawa Region Science Fair. At age 18,
he rewrote the graphing program to adapt it with Windows
technology. He soon started marketing the new graphing software. Two years
later he programmed the Statistics Problem Solver
and in a same year he officially
registered his company and called it Runiter, a short for the phrase
Running Motor.
